Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the Sowden House for artist John Sowden in 1926. Lloyd Wright indulged Sowden’s love for the theatrical and incorporated hand-cast, sand-colored concrete blocks reminiscent of ancient Mayan culture in the design.
